Looking to rent an apartment in Milan with no deposit? It is possible, but you need to know what "no deposit" really means and what to check before you pay anything. This guide explains the usual Milan rules, what changes with a direct booking, and which flats fit a stay of one month or more.
Italian law allows a deposit of up to three months' rent on a standard lease. In Milan landlords and agencies often ask for the full amount. Add an agency fee of about one month plus VAT, and the up-front cost is high.
Example for a studio at €1,500 per month:
| Up-front cost | Typical Milan rental | RAM apartments |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit | €3,000–4,500 | No three-month deposit |
| Agency fee | about €1,800 | None: you book directly |
| Bills and Wi-Fi activation | €100–200 | Included in the price |
| First month | €1,500 | First month |
The figures for a typical rental are market estimates, not a quote. What you pay with us is shown in the booking calendar.
For monthly stays in our apartments, we do not ask for the usual three-month deposit. Payment terms are written in the contract, so read it before you sign. This is what you should check in any offer:
Never send money to someone you have not identified. A scam often starts with a "no deposit" flat at a price that is too good to be true.
Our prices come from the monthly discounts on each apartment. The figures below are indicative host prices, rounded, for the minimum stay. Cleaning is charged once.
| Apartment | Guests | Minimum stay | Nightly base | Monthly discount | Cleaning |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Studio in Turro | 2 | 30 nights | €71 | 26% | €83 |
| One-bedroom, Via Val di Non | 2 | 28 nights | €98 | 20% | €59 |
With the discount applied, the studio in Turro comes to roughly €1,580 for 30 nights, plus cleaning. The one-bedroom comes to roughly €2,200 for 28 nights, plus cleaning. Bills and Wi-Fi are included. Platform fees and dates with special rates can change the total, so use the calendar for the exact figure.
Yes. For stays over 30 days we sign a transitional or student lease and register it. Read how it works in our guide to the transitional lease in Milan. The tourist tax applies only to stays under 30 nights, so it is not due with a monthly contract.
Many people search for "room with no deposit". We rent whole studios and flats: your own kitchen, bathroom and desk, with a washing machine. For a bit more than a shared room you get privacy, a quiet place to study or work, and a place to share with a partner or colleague if you need to (both apartments above sleep 2).
Both flats are in north-east Milan, a few minutes' walk from the M1 red line. The Duomo is about 20 minutes away. From Loreto you change to the M2, which leads to the Politecnico and Centrale station. The no-deposit apartments page lists all our homes, and the monthly rentals guide compares areas and contracts.
